Tuesday
AromaYoga Class: 6. November 2007,
6:30pm
TRUST
 To trust the
unknown.... To trust your instincts....your first gut
feeling.... To trust a higher, greater power
than yourself.... That for me is
"Yoga".
To trust enough is to leave yourself open
for disappointments and sometimes hurt. But trust is the
base of all relationships - especially the one with
yourself.
It can be frightening, but it is
also freeing. Finding that faith in yourself and
trusting your inner feeling. Letting go of fear
and doubt is difficult and believe me I am struggling
with this daily.... letting someone into our heart is
scary, being hurt can cause us to close off from new and
beautiful experiences. True trust lies deep inside of
us, deep in our souls. If intimacy, trust and deep
connections are difficult for you - whether letting
someone in or truly trusting someone who is already
there, yoga is a place to find comfort in those areas of
your lives. One way to overcome trust issues is to
meditate on past experiences - getting in touch with our
fears and release them through prayers and
affirmations. Practicing yoga on and off the mat,
trusting in your abilities and open up your heart to
possibilities. I am facing things daily that scare me
and when I find myself in that place, I come back to
yoga, come back to finding "my quiet" space and I go
within. Even if it is only for a few minutes...closing
my eyes and listen to my own breath and the beautiful
silent sound inside of me.... Whether love has hurt
us, circumstances have seemed unfair or if we feel we
have somehow failed ourselves - no matter it has
happened, we learn, we grow - we trust again.
Trust that everything that happens in your life has a
divine cause, even if at times it feels "not right" or
painful. Though when you look back those "circumstances"
have made you stronger, wiser, more loving. Trust in
your yoga practise - the universe - trust in
love!

TRUST, Rosemary essential oil
AND CHAKRAS
To deeply trust
is to remember who we truly are. Finding our inner
and own spiritual connection with the divine and with
our higher power, whatever that is for each of us. As
I mention in class frequently, our connection to our
higher power can be expressed in many different forms by
each of us and whatever you practice and however you
practice it, doesn't matter,as long as it serves your
highest good and the highest good of everyone around
you. Whether you are connected to: Jesus, Buddha, the
divine Mother Mary, the Angels, Krishna, Allah, Nature,
Sun Moon and Stars.....as long as you find your
inner truth and trust your path, you are living
Yoga.
There are many essential oils that can
assist you in trusting and deepening your spiritual
practise. In the past few weeks we have worked with
Frankincense, Angelica Root, several Tree oils and of
course with the chakra blends, where all these are
combined in each oil to assist each chakra.
In
Tuesdays class we will be working with Rosemary
essential oil. What is the first feeling that comes
up when you hear "Rosemary"? Well for me it contains two
beautiful names: Rose and Mary. Since I personally have
a strong connection to the blessed Mother Mary, I love
the name of this oil. Rose reminds me of matters of
the heart, to trust my "heart" feeling and to act out of
love in whatever I do.
Further, Rosemary
essential oil teaches us to deepen our spiritual path
and can help us with focus and mental clarity. It is
helping us remember who we truly are, hence it is called
the oil of remembrance. It helps us create and maintain
healthy boundaries in relationships, so we do not loose
ourselves to others. It strengthens our relationship
with our higher power and helps us stay on our spiritual
path. Rosemary deepens our loving connection with our
faith and shows us that we are always connected to
spirit, we just have to tap into it.... It also
strengthens our self confidence and helps us to remember
our spiritual values. When you use Rosemary, you can
clear the energies in a room, it helps you to
protect yourself from negative energies and
influences.
Rosemary essential oil and the
Chakras:
Rosemary is usually a
plant that one would benefit to work with during summer
time, since it is connected to the element of fire, but
I feel that it is appropiate to introduce to class at
this time.
Third
Eye: Ajna Chakra: When we use Rosemary on the
sixth chakra, the third eye, it helps us clear the mind,
enhances our potential for memory and promotes clear
thoughts, insights and understanding.
Heart Chakra: Anahata
Chakra: It helps us to feel inspired and open
in receiving in joyful love.
Solar Plexus
Chakra: Rosemary helps us to promote self
confidence. If you relate this to your asana practice,
it can help you find confidence in going deeper into a
new or unknown pose....play with it... It further
helps you to promote action in your life and it
strengthens your will power.
Crown
chakra: Rosemary inspires our faith and helps
us remember our spiritual path.
Note: Do not use
Rosemary just shortly before you go to sleep, as it has
energizing properties... its is best used in the morning
or when you need an energy boost.
Element: of Rosemary is
Fire. Planet:
Sun History:Rosemary was
once used in Greek temples as offerings to the Goddesses
and Gods. it has a long folk magic as a love stimulator.
Bridal wreath were entwined with fresh rosemary
and the plants have have been used in countless
rituals designed to promote love. It is also said
that Rosemary reefs were worn on the heads the old
Romans and to enhance their studies and stimulate their
memories. (A great herb or oil to keep nearby when you
study). Scott Cunningham writes in his book magical
herbs and plants that Humans have used rosemary for at
least 2.500 years. Due to its clean, resinous odor and
its potent energies.
How to use Rosemary
oil: The best way to use any essential oil for
subtle energy work, is to inhale its aroma and meditate
on it. You can also burn it in a essential oil burner.
If you want to use e.o.'s on your skin always dilute
them into a carrier oil before use to avoid irriation
and burning of the skin.
Caution: Always dilute
any essential oils when you use them neat on your skin.
Keep away from eyes and away from children. Do not take
internally, unless otherwise adviced by a health care
practionioer.
You can find rosemary e.o. in a any
healthfood store.
Preparation for
class: Before you come to class on Tuesday,
take a few moments, even when you are sitting on the
subway or in a cab and think of the following
questions:
- Where in your life do you have trust
issues?
- Why?
- What memories come to your
mind?
- What feelings are associated with
this memory?
- Are you willing to let go of those
feelings?
- What yoga practice can assist you
personally with Trust issues?
- Who can you share your experiences
with? A friend? A family member?
Recognize what and
who is helping you to find your trust and then honor
that being or person and most of all honor
yourself for allowing this healing to
happen. Once you completely trust
and once you learn to let go, you will notice how
things begin to naturally flow in your life and
how magic happens. Trust that you will always have help
around you, "ask and it is given...." I can only speak from my own
experience and believe me, I know how trying life can be
at times...We create our own experience every
day....learn to surrender to what is and then TRUST
that what ever happens is only for your HIGHEST
good.
Blessed Be! Namaste!

What are
chakras?
Chakras are
psychic centers that lie along the axis of the spine as
consciousness potentials. The chakras are not materially
real and are to be understood as situated, not in the
gross body, but in the subtle or etheric body.
Repositories of psychic energies, they govern the whole
condition of being. In the Hindy tradition they are
usually represented as lotuses.
As kundalini energy
reaches each chakra, that lotus opens and lift its
flower; and as soon as she leaves for a higher chakra,
the lotus closes its petals and hangs down, symbolizing
the activation of the energies of the chakra and their
assimilation to kundalini.
Each of the chakras,
according to the Tantras, corresponds to one of the
elements of which the known world is compounded.
Muladhara represents solidity; Svadhisthana, liquidity;
Manipura, the gaseous; Anahata, the aerial; Vishuddha,
the etheric, or space.
This ascent through the
chakras can be viewed as an upward journey through the
self.

Massage
Therapist Cheri
Keeler
Herewith I would like to
introduce my friend Cheri Keeler, who is an excellent
massage therapist. I had a massage from Cheri the other
day and can highly reccommend her. Below is a little
bit about her work:
Cheri Keeler 917.509.5499 I've been doing massage for
11 years this December. My massage consists of an integration
of Swedish, Shiatsu, deep tissue and Trigger Point Therapy.
My voice may sound high, yet my massage goes deep. It feels a bit
like a work out, yet after a few days
after receiving a massage you'll
feel like a new
person.
